New requirements for making value-based decisions in the built environment
What’s happened and why?
Value-based decision making is already in use in both government and private sector investment policy. A complementary new Flex Standard is now available for FREE download that describes the process of making and implementing value-based decisions in the built environment to drive better social, environmental and economic outcomes.
What does BSI Flex 390 v2.0:2023-03 cover?
It specifies requirements for implementing a consistent approach to value-based decision making within the inter-related processes undertaken in the management of a built environment project and throughout the lifecycle of an asset.
This BSI Flex is complementary to existing processes that assist with the wider management process of a programme or project, whatever the size, complexity or chosen procurement strategy.
Why use BSI Flex 390 v2.0:2023-03?
It provides a clear, modern approach to how value in the built environment can be defined, created, delivered and measured to drive better social, environmental and economic outcomes. In addition, this standard:
- Provides a framework within which clients can explore their required outcomes.
- Helps organizations benchmark and develop their value-based operations.
- Supplies a rigorous process, as well as the ability to verify conformity.
- Creates greater resilience and efficiency and supports innovation.
- Is available as a FREE download.
BSI Flex 390 v2.0:2023-03 also contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 11 on sustainable cities and communities and Goal 12 on responsible consumption and production.
