This won’t be possible unless the financial sector realigns to consistently support sustainable development. To this end, a new Draft International Standard (DIS) called BS ISO 32210:2022 has been released on 14 January 2022 for comment. This document gives the financial sector practical guidance on how to integrate key sustainability principles into its operations. The webinar introduces the standard and solicits your comments on the draft.

Dr. Peter Young chairs the Strategic Advisory Group for the UK Standards Programme on Sustainable Finance and the British Standards Institute’s committee on sustainability. He is a trustee of the Green Purposes Company, the Broadway Initiative and a founding member of Aldersgate Group. Peter is Chair of ISO/TC 322 on Sustainable Finance and represents ISO on several international sustainable finance fora for standard setters.

Hayden Morgan is Director and founder of Morgan Green Advisory, a sustainable finance consultancy. He was previously Director at the UK Green Investment Bank / Group and was part of the original set up by the UK Government. Hayden is Convenor for ISO 32210 Sustainable Finance: Principles and Guidance, and honoured to be a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.

Franz Knecht is the founder of CONNEXIS AG, an international strategic advisory company for sustainable development implementation in the financial industry. He previously worked for Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS AG) and was their first Head of Sustainable Banking Solutions. He has many years’ experience in ISO standards, and is Convenor of the ISO/TC 322 group on future standards development.

James Dunham is Associate Director with Morgan Green Advisory (MGA). He is leading pioneering work to integrate climate risk management into investment decision-making and has an established track record of supporting financial clients. James is an expert in physical climate risk and led the development of the European Investment Bank’s physical Climate Risk Assessment (CRA) system, from concept to ongoing implementation. James contributed to the development of ISO 32210 as a UK expert.

Dr Paul Pritchard has wide experience in corporate sustainability with a focus on financial services.  While at RSA Insurance Group he was Group Environmental Adviser and also lead the operational risk function. He now works with Iken Associates, where he focuses on the integration of sustainability into financial services. He was technical author of the BSI/BEIS Sustainable Finance Framework Guide (PAS7340) and has joint authored a guide to TCFD. He has served as Vice Chairman of IEMA and as a Fellow at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL).

BS ISO 32210:2022 contributes to all 17 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
