Before a new standard can be developed, especially in areas that are new to standardization, it’s often essential to carry out research first. What are the challenges businesses are facing? What are the issues holding up growth? Where are things going wrong, and going right, and how could we generalize from these?
Looking into questions like these and finding answers is one of the roles we carry out with government funding. The reports we write and the insights in them can then guide the standards that are later developed.
