- Consolidation marks milestone in BSI’s ambition to build a centre of excellence in managing and securing corporate information that is at the cutting edge of Information Resilience -

A year after being acquired by global business standards company BSI, Espion is changing its name to “BSI” and will adopt the well-recognized BSI visual brand.

Already a market leader in Ireland for managing and securing corporate information, the new business stream “Cybersecurity and Information Resilience”, represents a consolidation of Espion into BSI’s Professional Services.  It also demonstrates BSI’s commitment to building a robust portfolio in this domain, having acquired UK cyber-security and assurance experts Info-Assure in October 2016.

Espion Managing Director, Colman Morrissey, Espion Director, Colm Murphy and Info-Assure Managing Director, Martin Walsham, will all become Directors of this new business stream.  This centre of excellence will offer a range of solutions to help clients protect and secure infrastructure, meet regulatory and compliance obligations, keep people safe as well as maintain reputation and trust.

Colman Morrissey says:  “Our first year with BSI has realized the strong strategic and cultural fit between our organizations which is benefiting both our clients and our employees.  Besides the logo and website, it is business as usual for our customers.

“We look forward to the next phase of integration with excitement and enthusiasm.  The future will see us expanding the depth, global reach and impact of our services through knowledge acquisition, investment in innovation, adherence to leading industry standards as well as enhancing methodologies.”

Mark Basham, Managing Director, BSI EMEA says: “Information Resilience is a crucial ingredient in the overall success of an organization and we are meeting our customers’ information security needs with world-class professional services.  Our capabilities are enabling us to deliver the right solutions - that have a positive impact and help embed excellence - increasing the resilience of the client’s information systems and processes.”

Cybersecurity and Information Resilience further cements BSI as the authority in Information Resilience having been the originator of the internationally recognized ISO 27000 series of Information Security Standards and is the global leader in providing training and certification to ISO 27001, the established best practice in Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
