BSI announces senior appointment

BSI, the business standards company, today announced the appointment of Pietro Foschi as Strategic Delivery Director on the Group Executive Committee with immediate effect.

As Group Strategic Delivery Director, Pietro will be responsible for supporting and driving the delivery of BSI’s rolling 3-year strategic plan, and the development of the global Systems Certification business stream.  

Howard Kerr, Chief Executive at BSI said: “Pietro will be a great asset to our Group Executive team.  His in-depth understanding of the certification industry and proficiency in developing strategic markets, sectors and key accounts will help drive BSI to further success.” 

Prior to joining BSI, Pietro spent 14 years at Bureau Veritas holding a variety of senior strategic and international operational roles.  He started as Director of Strategy and was in charge of the Certification business for Bureau Veritas from 2002 to 2007.  He was then appointed CEO of Bureau Veritas Italy from 2007 to 2012, and subsequently  promoted to Senior Vice President, most recently in charge of Sales & Marketing.  From 1993 to 2000, he worked at Mercer Management Consulting, becoming a partner in the Paris office.

Pietro started his career at Brown & Root Vickers in the UK, as Project Engineer.  He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering  and an MBA from Bocconi University (Milan) and ISA (HEC Group, France).
