GB Flint celebrates their prestigious Kitemark® with a successful open day

PRESS RELEASE

July 2009

GB Flint Coachworks or Flints for Dints as they are more commonly known by their customers in Long Eaton, held a successful open day on 17th of July to promote their BSI Kitemark certification off the back of the consumer launch day held at Triple Focus on 18th of June.

Customers, potential customers, insurance brokers and fleet managers alongside local dignitaries including Councillor Holbrook, the Mayor of Erewash and Labour MP Liz Blackman attended the event.

The day kicked off with guided tour of the 18,000 sq ft facility and visitors were informed of the process of what happens when a vehicle is being repaired at a Kitemark certified bodyshop.

Industry leaders attended the event to offer advice to visitors; Andrew Marsh from Thatcham and Paul Jones from Basic Welding demonstrated the skill involved in welding a car alongside Mark Bull from the ABP Club and Chris Savill, sales manager for BSI.

Chris Savill had a stand on the day informing visitors on the importance of ensuring why a bodyshop should have the BSI Kitemark. He commented: “The day was a great success with a number of customers/fleet managers and work providers learning more about the benefits of the BSI Kitemark Certification.

“By gaining the certification it demonstrates how serious GB Flint is about getting critical vehicle body repair safety processes right. In addition GB Flint have gone that step further by promoting this achievement.”

Carl Flint, Managing Director at GB Flints, added: “I felt proud to have hosted an event that was successful and informative to our visitors. The main aim of the day was to educate the visitors of the complexity involved in repairing a vehicle even after a minor accident. Industry experts who attended and the team at GB Flint demonstrated and provided guidance on the safe repair process and the importance of the Kitemark.

"A big thank you to all who helped and attended the event to make it a success."
