BSI announces support for new BCI business continuity conference

Press release: 23 February 2009

BSI is delighted to announce its full support for the Business Continuity Institute’s (BCI) new ‘BCM World Conference and Exhibition’ which will be held in London in November. Having previously exhibited and provided speakers for the BCI Symposium, BSI will have a strong presence at the new event.

BSI Management Systems’ Global Marketing Manager, Paul Lanham, says, “We trust that many other organizations will join BSI at this important event and support the BCI and the Business Continuity Management (BCM) industry. It is particularly vital at this time that BCM is firmly on the agenda of all organizations: BCM can help build confidence in today’s uncertain markets. The BCI exhibition and conference provides an opportunity for organizations to get together and showcase the latest BCM developments and solutions. For BSI, the conference provides the perfect platform to highlight BS 25999, the internationally recognized best practice standard for BCM.”

The BCI’s aim for the BCM World Conference and Exhibition is to fill the gap left by the cancellation of Reed Exhibition’s UK based BC EXPO. Incorporating the prestigious and well established BCI Symposium, the event will take place on 11 and 12 November 2009 at the Novotel London West Hotel and Convention Centre, Hammersmith, London, UK.

Lorraine Darke, BCI Executive Director, comments, “By launching BCM World Conference and Exhibition we are offering an opportunity for the BCM industry to get together, share best practice, network and simply do business. As a not-for-profit organization we believe we can offer excellent value for money for exhibitors – this event is ‘for the industry by the industry’”.

Exhibitors will have the opportunity to hold ‘showcases’ on the exhibition floor, educating visitors and conference delegates about their products and various aspects of the industry. The conference will include a number of streams consisting of presentations and case studies relevant to those new to business continuity through to the most experienced of practitioners. In acknowledgement of the current economic situation, the BCI are offering Super Early Bird conference rates for delegates until the end of April. Exhibitor rates are also being kept to a minimum with BCI Partners being given preferential booking.
