How would your business cope in the face of disruption? A BSI British Standards conference offers guidance

Key speakers on BS 25999-2, which specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, exercising, maintaining and improving a documented Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) include Dave Austin, Chair of the BS 25999-2 committee, and Robert Whitcher, of BSI Management Systems.  Several organisations will present on applying and using BS 25999-2 for business benefit.  Among them, Gordon Irving, Director Group Security, Scottish Power, will speak on implementing, operating, monitoring and reviewing a BCMS and Keith Tilley, Managing Director of SunGard Availability Services, will look at engaging the whole organization in BCM.

As part of the conference BSI and Marsh, a leading insurance broker and strategic risk adviser, will launch BS 25999 Business Continuity Assessment Online, a tool which will allow organizations to determine how adequate their existing BCM plans are and to gain confidence in their BCM strategies.

The conference is aimed at all those who have responsibility for Business Continuity and compliance, from BC professionals and Risk Managers to Certification Bodies and Auditors.  Attendees will:

• Gain an understanding of the accreditation and certification processes

The conference is followed by two workshops on 26 September looking at:

• How to do business impact assessments and risk analysis
