Tony Lea joins BSI Group Board

BSI Group, renowned for its Kitemark® and as a world leader in setting management systems and product standards for industry, has appointed Tony Lea as a non Executive Board member.

Mr Lea, who was Finance Director with Anglo American plc at his retirement in 2005, will take up his new role on 1 July 2007.  As well as a strong financial background, Mr Lea has extensive international operational experience in the UK, South Africa and North America.  He also has a strong interest in economic and environmental affairs, having served as a member of the Economic Affairs Committee of the CBI and as Chairman of the Environmental Committee of the influential “100 Group” of Finance Directors.

A board member of the Anglo American Group since 1987, Mr Lea is also the non-executive Chairman of Merrill Lynch World Mining Trust plc and has served as a non Executive Director with the Engelhard Corporation and Terra Industries in the US and Anglo Gold Ashanti, the second largest gold producer in the world.
