BSI Brand Joins The Super League

PRESS RELEASE

19 April 2004

BSI has joined the elite of British business by being named a Superbrand by The Brand Council.

Handpicked from tens of thousands of brands, BSI was part of a small minority, selected by a panel of expert judges. Superbrands are brands that are instantly recognised as continually inspiring confidence in their clients or customers.

BSI featured in the shortlist alongside names such as British Airways, Lycra and Rolls Royce. The Brand Council, independent and voluntary experts, selected brands on the following guidelines: "A Business Superbrand has established the finest reputation in its field. It offers customers significant emotional and/or tangible advantages over its competitors, which (consciously or subconsciously) customers want, recognise and are confident investing in."

This enforces BSI’s vision of being a world leader in advancing industry and business for a better quality of life.

The Brand Council identifies and awards Superbrands hoping to provide people with a greater awareness and appreciation of the discipline of branding.

BSI Group Marketing Director, Frank Post remarked: "The Brand Council’s ‘Business Superbrands Publication’ is a celebration of, and tribute to, some of the strongest business to business brands in the UK today, so I am delighted for BSI to have been named a Superbrand. This is testament to all BSI staff worldwide whose work continually embodies our values of trust, independence, integrity and innovation."

As well as the Group’s own brand, BSI’s ‘kitemark’ remains one of the most recognised and trusted symbols in the UK today.
