BSI Appoints New Strategic Communications Manager

Naomi Cohen has been appointed to the new post of strategic communications manager for BSI British Standards. Naomi and her team will provide direction for all internal and external communications.

Commenting on her role, Naomi says: "My major aim is to maximise BSI British Standards' fantastic resource of people, partners, projects and products to achieve a better understanding and awareness of how BSI contributes to the economic and social fabric of the UK.

"As well as being a global ‘Superbrand’ and the world's first national standards body, BSI British Standards helps business to compete, consumers to be safe and the UK to enhance its reputation worldwide."

Mike Low, director of BSI British Standards, says: "Naomi is a highly experienced and capable communications professional. She will be driving through a number of communication projects with our 22,500 standards makers from industry, government and consumer groups as well as enabling us to create even better relationships with and advocacy from our wider stakeholders."

Naomi is a senior manager with 16 years’ marketing and communications experience in the private, public and voluntary sectors. Previously she has run her own consultancy as well as holding several senior management in-house roles.  Naomi led the communications and marketing strategy at the English Tourism Council. This included dealing with the Foot and Mouth crisis and the formation of Visit Britain. Naomi was head of communications and deputy chief executive at the TEC National Council during the change programme to form the Learning and Skills Council and Small Business Service.
