BSI announces new operations director of British Standards

With immediate effect, Shirley Bailey-Wood has been appointed as the new operations director of British Standards for the BSI Group (BSI).

Ms Bailey-Wood was previously the senior vice president Pharmaceuticals and Chemistry of Thompson Scientific and Healthcare, where she was responsible for operational activities generating very significant revenue for the division. She brings to BSI a track record of excellence in the delivery of cost effective operational productivity and process change.

Ms Bailey-Wood will be taking up her appointment, which is to a new post, at an exciting time for British Standards, following the recent realignment of activities within the world’s oldest and most highly respected National Standards Body.

The new post was created to boost British Standards’ ability to respond to market need, to optimize its engagement with its committee member stakeholders and to ensure the delivery of a consistently high quality of customer-relevant standards products.

Of the new role, Mike Low, director British Standards says:

In her extensive career Ms Bailey-Wood has held senior positions with a range of key information services providers at an international level.
