BSI Inspectorate Appoints New IT Expert

PRESS RELEASE

5th December 2003

BSI Inspectorate, the leading independent inspection and analysis company, is ramping up its IT proficiency in a bid to further improve the local delivery of its global capabilities. In charge of this is Ron Olivier, who has joined as head of information systems to supply the long-term technology framework required to support this key objective.

Ron comments: "The BSI Inspectorate customer base demands consistent services tailored to their specific requirements whether regional or global. In many instances, innovative solutions must be made available on this basis. BSI Inspectorate provides innovative and highly tailored solutions to enable the customer to use the results we provide to locally manage their resources while at the same time globally sell their products. For example, many chemical manufacturers are increasingly marketing their products on a global basis using inspection and testing results provided by BSI Inspectorate from numerous local facilities."

Inspectorate's initiative to globalise its information technology system delivery and to continue to focus on local customer solutions will help ensure that it meets the level of service customers now demand.

BSI Inspectorate, a truly global inspection and testing organisation, is well positioned to service this demand as it is also currently investing in new laboratories in key trading ports and in new, experienced personnel. Recent lab openings have included Latvia, Novgorod, Astrakhan, Mumbai, Pasadena and Dubai. These laboratories must operate with complete integrity while testing the purity and standard of materials, which include metals and minerals, oil and petrochemicals and agricultural commodities.

Chris Fenton, managing director of BSI Inspectorate, says: "Ron is one more example of our investment in people, systems and assets to better meet customer needs. Ron's entire career has been in IT and for the past 12 years he has worked in our industry, so is able to provide great insight and experience."
